T. COURTNEY WILLIAMS

Courtney is a recognised facilitator, strategist, and researcher. After several years in direct-service, non-profit project development and management, Courtney has seen how to design with marginalised communities centered -- and it’s not simply representation. Their work focuses on building equity-centered prototypes that prioritise collaborating with communities as design partners.

Courtney has extensive experience facilitating cross-cultural programs, designing international exchange programs, and advising on social change projects.  In 2018, they built a “food-love-life” program for housing-insecure adolescent mothers in Washington, DC; merging their love for conscious cuisine with their activist-facilitator background to engage participants in a revolutionary act of self-love in a food desert.

Since 2018, Courtney has provided consulting services on DEI-related, team-building, and prototyping projects while launching Urban Fireworks. Through Urban Fireworks’ in-house projects, Courtney continues to collaborate in action and thought on issues that impact Black, Indigenous, immigrant, womn, children, and queer communities.

The work would not be possible without the teams that contribute to each of our projects and partner consultants.
