Our institutional commitment to centering communities closest to marginalization and violence as the designers of systemic change empowers communities and enhances institutions. 

As an organization, we manage robust relationships with community-based organizations, community organizers, and individuals committed to the deconstruction of systems of injustice. Through these relationships, we are able to continuously center the needs of marginalized communities, even as organizations work to increase these communities on their teams and in their work.  

Urban Fireworks also partners with grassroots ideas and organizations to design, prototype, and launch projects that prioritize human-centered outcomes and more equitable futures for systemically excluded communities.

Many of the services we offer our community partners — as clients or collaborators — are defined by partners. We offer options in strategy, design, and theory consulting areas, but primarily focuses on supporting our partners’ specific needs. Additionally, we produce community-focused resources, learning opportunities, and pilot projects that center marginalized communities.
